WireSketch is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your planning data — projects, photos, and layouts — stays on your device; we run no servers and never receive it. The one exception to an otherwise data-free experience is advertising: if you use WireSketch for free, it shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects limited data as described under Advertising below. Making any in-app purchase removes ads permanently, and paying devices never load the ad software at all.
WireSketch (the developer) does not collect:
The exception is advertising for free users: the Google AdMob software bundled in the app may access a device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads. We never receive this data ourselves. See Advertising below. None of this applies once you have removed ads through a purchase.
All project data, photos, fixture placements, annotations, and settings are stored locally on your device in the app's sandboxed Documents directory. This data is:
WireSketch requests access to your camera and photo library solely to capture or select wall photos for electrical layout planning. Photos are stored locally within the app and are never transmitted externally.
Location access is optional. If you grant it, WireSketch uses your device location only to (1) center the satellite map on your home when planning rooftop solar, and (2) suggest the electrical region and standard for a new property. Turning a location or address into a region (reverse-geocoding) and the satellite imagery itself are provided by Apple Maps, so the relevant coordinates are sent to Apple for that purpose under Apple's privacy policy. Any resolved coordinates are stored locally on your device (and in your device backups if you have backups enabled) to power the projects map; they are never sent to WireSketch — we operate no servers. If you decline location access, you can type an address or choose your region manually.
WireSketch offers optional in-app purchases processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Purchase transactions are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy. WireSketch stores only a local boolean indicating whether a feature has been unlocked. No payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details are collected or stored by WireSketch.
When using the AR scan mode, WireSketch uses Apple's ARKit and RoomPlan frameworks to detect walls and room geometry. All processing happens on-device. No scan data is sent to any server.
WireSketch is free to use, supported by ads. Free users see occasional full-screen ads served by Google AdMob (a Google service). Any in-app purchase removes all ads permanently, and on paying devices the advertising software is never loaded.
To show and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect and process limited data, including a device advertising identifier, IP address, and ad-interaction events. Google may use this to deliver, frequency-cap, and measure ads, and — only where you have consented — to personalize them. We do not receive or store any of this data. Google's handling of it is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms.
Your choices:
For free users, WireSketch integrates Google AdMob (and Google's User Messaging Platform, which handles the consent form described above) solely to display ads — see Advertising. There are no analytics SDKs, and no SDKs from Facebook or other third parties. Aside from advertising, the only network communication is with Apple: the App Store for in-app purchase verification, and Apple Maps for satellite imagery and reverse-geocoding when you use the Solar Planner or the optional location features.
When you export a project (PDF, PNG, JPEG, CSV), the exported file is generated locally and shared only through iOS's built-in share sheet. WireSketch does not access or control where you send the exported file. Exported PDFs include project data such as fixture names, positions, and material estimates — ensure you are comfortable sharing this information with the recipient.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over its retention. You can delete individual projects within the app or remove all data by uninstalling the app. We do not retain any copy of your data.
WireSketch is a professional tool, is not directed to children, and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app contains no social features. Ads shown to free users are not personalized to anyone under the age of consent in their region, and any in-app purchase removes ads entirely.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated through an app update.
